What qualifies as a potential case for a dog bite?

Who is responsible?
The pet owner may be responsible for an injury that is caused by his dog, particularly when the dog bites without having been provoked. The owner may be responsible if he knew that the dog was likely to bite or was aware of the dog’s aggressive tendencies. The pet owner may also be responsible if his carelessness in handling the dog resulted in the injury.

Pet owners are not responsible for injuries that result from a dog biting a trespasser.
